THIS is 23!

June was a VERY busy (and fun) month for me, so apologies for the late post! Gemini season has come to an end, which means I’m now officially 23! Around this time a year ago I made a post for my 22th birthday that included things I was looking forward in the upcoming year. Here we are now! I think it’s time to bring things full circle and see what I’ve achieved since then. Here it goes:

  1. GETTING A BIG KID JOB

Done did it! Not only did I get my first big kid job, but I’m extremely happy with where I am right now. I’m still very early on in my career, but I feel so blessed to have been given the opportunity at hand now. I love the company I’m at, the people I work with, and the work that I do. Twenty-two year old me just yearned to be employed, so she definitely didn’t see this one coming!

  2. MOVING OUT OF MY PARENTS HOUSE / MOVING TO A NEW CITY

If you’ve read any of my other posts, you probably know that I made SF my next home! The past 8 months have been fun so far.

  3. PAY OFF MY STUDENT LOANS

Shoutout to Biden for pushing loan repayments off until Sept 30 of this year. But yeah, give me a couple more years to knock out this one.

  4. LEARNING

Always learning, always growing! This process is endless, but I’m happy to say that with my job and hobbies I’ve been doing a whole lot of learning. The feeling of growth is really like no other.

  5. FINDING AND FOCUSING ON MY PASSIONS

Like I said before, I’m always learning, and always growing. Because of this, I think my passions are forever changing. I learn more about myself everyday, and when I try new things (or even old things), sometimes a passion for it just sparks somehow. I’m lucky enough to work at a tech company focused on productivity, which is something I’m passionate about, but I also want to explore some other fun creative passions and see how I can leverage that in life.

  6. HAVING A MORE STABLE ROUTINE

Contrary to popular opinion, I love having a 9-5. I have a solid routine of waking up early to workout, working, then winding down. I’ve dealt with so much chaos, like meetings running until 11pm in college then having to study until 5am, so the routine is definitely something I’m glad I’ve achieved!

Age twenty-two was a pivotal year for me. Living through a pandemic and transitioning my life from a student to an adult has been wild. I feel like I’ve been all-gas-no-breaks since then, so I think it’s time to slow things down. For this year, I’ve decided I want to focus on just two things. The first one being to make the most of the world and experiences around me. I want to explore my city more, and travel the world as much as I can. My second focus for the year is to create a side hustle out of something I’m passionate about. I have several ideas in mind for this, and they’re all going to take a whole lot of work. I’ve got a whole year ahead of me though, and now that I’ve gotten into a good grove of things at work, I think it’s time to start adventuring more and dedicating time to something that helps me express my passions and creativity. Cheers to 23 baby!
